Since their first appearance together in 2009 when THE QUEEN members Brian May en Roger Taylor appeared as guests at the finale of the eighth season of “American Idol” on which Adam Lambert was a participant, the combination of QUEEN + ADAM LAMBERT has gone from strength to strength to one of the world’s greatest drawing reed bands. Their latest tour through Oceania saw them sell out to massive audiences, with a single show at Sydney’s ANZ Stadium reaching a record mass of more than 60,000. So far, the band has played to a worldwide audience approaching four million.
Had this been otherwise, Brian, Roger en Adam would have just finished a further tour with a colossal run of 27 shows in nine European countries. However, the arrival of COVID-19 forced them to postpone their difficult European summer trip until next year. With this in mind, QUEEN + ADAM LAMBERT looked at other ways to comfort the nearly half a million disappointed fans who already have tickets. This is when they first get to YouTube. No strangers to the platform with 12.5 million subscribers already following them, the band presented a special QUEEN + ADAM LAMBERT “Tour Watch Party”, an hour-long show of live highlights from previous tours around the world. The positive engagement of fans worldwide showed that despite the worldwide blackout of live shows, the show could still continue. But it wasn’t just the 500,000+ viewing fans who were under the impression, that was the band itself.

“It’s a first! While you watch and listen to these tracks, you will travel with us around the world and experience a full virtual live set. The collection climbs earlier this year in Sydney when, in support Fire Fight Australia, we’ve made it all over again QUEEN Live Aid set. It was a historic event for a great cause – with perhaps the highest adrenaline level since the original Live Aid in 1985. It makes me especially happy that we can now share this unique moment with the whole world. “
Lambert added: “When we could not tour this year, we wanted to give the fans something instead, and a live album just felt good. It’s the first time we’ve released an album together, and we have a lot of fun to put it together, picking out favorite shows over the past seven years. “
