(Bloomberg) – Qantas Airways Ltd. deleted the executive role that oversees international services, as those flights are grounded for at least a year.
The head of Qantas’ international company, Tino La Spina, will step down and its division will be consolidated with the airline’s domestic operations, Qantas said Monday. La Spina worked for the airline for 14 years and was its former chief financial officer.

The departure of La Spina shows that Joyce is ready to remove even its most experienced drivers to cut costs and warm up the crisis. He already eliminates 6,000 jobs, and last week reported the first loss of Qantas in six years. The international fleet is grounded until at least mid-2021.
