The PS5 is “exceptionally quiet”, according to a number of reporters who were able to experience a hands-on preview with the console in Japan this week.
The reports come from Japanese publications Dengueki and 4 Gamer (translated by VGC), both of which have praised the lack of sound from the upcoming Zen console’s exhaust system.
4 Gamer reports that Godfall had been playing on the PS5 for some time, before he noticed, “the wind coming from the exhaust port was soft and it didn’t look too hot”, despite being in a basement surrounded by tech (and thus probably your Even warmer room than average lifetime).
Dengki, meanwhile, called the system “exceptionally quiet”, even going so far as to say that “the peace of the fans was more impressive than the loading time.”
This will be good news for PlayStation owners who currently have to deal with the notoriously loud fans of the PS4, which operate on a low-fluid response system to software, and therefore work overtime to keep the system cool, sinking into the room there. Looks like Boeing 7 off7.
The PS5 is set to launch this November, with an astonishing schedule around the world. If you still need to secure your PS5 pre-order, follow the link for the latest information where you can get the bag.
