Prince Harry U-turn: Duke’s playful joke about Prince George with Boris Johnson | Real | News

Harry made his last bow as a royalty in March alongside his wife, Meghan Markle. The Duke and Duchess of Sussex attended the Commonwealth Day service as their last official royal engagement after their decision to “resign” from the firm. However, it was not a quiet matter, as Harry seemed to snub the Prime Minister while the world’s eyes were on them.

In striking footage of the Westminster Abbey ceremony, the prince could be seen talking to Richard Scott, the Duke of Buccleuch, as Johnson waited for his turn.

But instead of talking to the leader of the Conservative Party, Harry only offered him a quick nod before contacting Patricia Scotland, Secretary-General of the Commonwealth, for another longer discussion.

The move sparked a sensation on social media, with some even thanking the Duke for showing “the backbone.”

And the unearthed reports suggest that, if Harry’s move was intentional, it would represent a U-turn in his view of Mr. Johnson.

In 2014 Harry joined Mr. Johnson at an event to showcase the new playground at London’s Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park.

Then the Mayor of London, Mr. Johnson, seemed to share good relationships with the 29-year-old royalty as they showed off the park’s new climbing frames together.

The images show Harry telling the future prime minister that he “loves” the place and “can’t wait to see it crowded.”

This provoked a big smile from Harry as he laughed playfully at the Brexit activist.

Harry concluded: “No, I am sure you will have a chance to come here.

“You never know, the Olympics could be back here before we know it.”

When asked in January this year about Harry and Meghan’s decision to leave the Royal Family, Johnson seemed reluctant to comment.

He told BBC Breakfast: “I think they will solve it more easily without any comment from me.”

Johnson added that although “everyone has an opinion” on the situation, “the Royal Family is one of the great assets of this country and I am sure they will resolve it.”
