Biden, Harris’ first joint interview will be broadcast on ABC Sunday at 8 p.m.
Former Vice President Joe Biden said in an exclusive interview with ABC “World News Tonight” Anchor David Muir on Friday that he, as president, would shut down the country to stop the spread of COVID-19 if the move was recommended to him by scientists.
‘I would shut it down; I would listen to the scientists, “Biden Muir said Friday, in addition to his running mate, sen. Kamala Harris, D-Caliph., During her first joint interview since he officially became the Democratic presidential candidate and vice-presidential candidate.
Biden also criticized what he claimed was the “fundamental error” of the Trump administration’s response to the coronavirus pandemic, that the nation could not begin to recover economically until the virus and public health emergency were under control.
“I will be willing to do whatever it takes to save people, because we can not move the country until we control the virus,” Biden said. ‘That is the fundamental mistake of thinking of this administration to begin with. To keep the country running and moving and to grow the economy, and engage people, you need to repair the virus, you need to deal with the virus. ”
