Post Malone (apparently) chose a side in Utah’s college football rivalry.
Malone, whose real name is Austin Post, appeared on Joe Rogan’s podcast on Wednesday, sporting a University of Utah hat. During the broadcast, Malone discussed his decision to move to Utah. The podcast contains mature language.
Malone said he loves living in Utah because of the mountain ranges, the scenery and the escape from city life. He said he likes to see the giant mountains and feel small at the same time.
“It’s incredible,” said Malone. “And it’s free”.
Malone said Utah is great at making music because “you feel like you’re part of something bigger but you’re so insignificant. You can say, I accept everything around me and I am relaxed and at peace, knowing that … the world revolves around you and everything happens for a reason. “
Utah leaves him “alone” and “at ease,” he said. “I don’t have to worry.”
“Los Angeles always had something to do,” he said. “I couldn’t do it,” she said, and it impacted her creative process.
In September Post Malone said on his album “Hollywood’s Bleeding” that Utah became an “oasis” for him, as I wrote for Deseret.com.
“I finally moved from Los Angeles and I moved to Utah. I feel like in Los Angeles and Hollywood there is such a weird vibe where there are so many vampires, ”he said.
He told Variety that Utah also helps him relax from his anxiety.
“I would say from the beginning of high school, I always felt like I was always anxious and a little sad all the time, but I got out of it,” he told Variety. “Being in Utah and away from the routine and everyone else and it’s just me with my video games and a cold one, that makes me feel good.”
