The PSP and the PJ are investigating a dispute, this Thursday night, between gangs of young people in Braga with two shootings: one in the Enguardas neighborhood and the other in a residential area, in Nogueira. In both cases, there were no injuries. The PSP arrested two young men in possession of firearms in Nogueira.

The case happened around 8 pm. A group of young people went to an apartment in the social neighborhood of Enguardas and fired several shots at the facade. They also left a painting on a wall calling themselves the Fujacal neighborhood.

A police source told JN that, minutes later, the members of the Fujacal group went to the Nogueira area, since they had identified one of the young attackers, who they knew lived there. At the scene, at 8:20 p.m., and according to a report from one of the neighbors, the Enguardas group fired eight shots at the home of the young man’s parents, four with a 6.35 mm pistol and four with a shotgun. The house was full of holes.

The PSP’s anti-crime brigade, alerted to the first shooting, went to Nogueira and ended up arresting two young men, allegedly intervening.

A brigade of the PJ of Braga also attended the scene and dealt with the incident.

A source from the District Police Command told the JN that the reason for the disputes is unknown, but another source familiar with the process said the case must be linked to settling accounts for marginal activities and rivalry between youth groups.
