The Barcelos Chamber today expressed “deep regret” for the death of former soccer player Dito, who was born in that municipality and who was general director of Gil Vicente Futebol Clube.
“Dito’s talent has always been – and will be – a source of great pride for Barcelos and for all Barcelenses, so his death constitutes an irreparable loss for the sport in our municipality,” says the Chamber, in a statement.

Later he was a coach in several teams and made his debut last season as a coach at Gil Vicente.
For the Câmara de Barcelos, Dito was “a great soccer athlete, a sport in which he traveled a path full of great moments, as evidenced by the 17 games of the main Portuguese soccer team”.
