The Portuguese handball team is looking for its third World Cup victory and will go on to the next round with four points.

This Monday, Portugal seeks to maintain impeccable course in the preliminary round of the Handball World Cup and add Algeria the third victory in other Group F matches of the tournament that is played in Egypt.

Returning to a World Cup 18 years later, the Portuguese team beat Iceland (25-23) and Morocco (33-20) and reached the third and final round with the qualification for the main round already assured.

Algeria, third in the last African championship, is also in the last round practically classified, after a victory over Morocco (24-23) and a defeat against Iceland (39-24).

To fail qualification, Algeria would have to lose to Portugal and Morocco would have to defeat Iceland, with goal difference in the clash with three to decide qualification.

In addition to securing first place, a victory would leave Portugal with four points at the start of the main round, to which points are transferred in the matches between the qualifying teams.

The start of the meeting is scheduled for 5:00 p.m. in mainland Portugal.
