Worker in serious condition after being harvested by the tractor itself in Fafe

A forest worker was picked up by the tractor itself in a work accident this Tuesday afternoon in Fafe.

As reported by the MINHO of the District Relief and Operations Command, the victim, a man, suffered serious injuries.

From what could be seen in the place, the man was working clearing pine and eucalyptus trees and clearing the forest on a hill in Quinchães when, for unknown reasons, he left the tractor to remove a stick and ended up being harvested by himself. vehicle.

For the accident, the Firefighters from Fafe, soldiers from GNR, SIV from Fafe and VMER from Guimarães traveled. The victim was located in an area of ​​difficult access, about 150 meters from the municipal road where the ambulances were located.

It was necessary to transport on a stretcher over steep terrain to the place of care.

In total, there were four vehicles and eight operations that assisted in the transportation and assistance of the victim, including two GNR soldiers.

The wounded man was taken to the Senhora da Oliveira Hospital, in Guimarães.
