Today, February 26, the Autonomous Region of Madeira registers another 58 positive cases of covid-19, thus counting 7,144 infected with the new coronavirus in the regional territory, according to the Regional Health Directorate (DGS).
These are two imported cases from France and 56 cases of local transmission, most of which are already associated with contacts of positive cases, according to the epidemiological bulletin.
Another 62 recovered cases are reported, so there are already 5,734 recovered cases of covid-19.
To date, RAM represents a total of 64 deaths associated with the disease.
According to the bulletin, Madeira now has 1,346 active cases, of which 27 are imported cases and 1,319 are transmitted locally.
Regarding the isolation of active cases, 40 people are hospitalized in the Dr. Nélio Mendonça Hospital (35 people in Polyvalent Units and 5 in the Intensive Care Unit dedicated to COVID-19) and 26 people are isolated in a dedicated hotel unit , staying the staying in his own accommodation.
In total, there are 201 situations that are currently being considered by the health authorities, these are related to travelers identified at the airport, contacts with positive cases or other situations reported to the SRS24 line or to SESARAM, EPERAM.
Regarding the active surveillance of cases of positive contacts, the health authorities of the different municipalities of Madeira and Porto Santo are monitoring 1,555 people.
Regarding the surveillance of travelers, 3,623 people are also being accompanied by the authorities, using the MadeiraSafe application.
The total number of contacts for the SRS24 Line (800 24 24 20) now amounts to 40,123 calls and the Psychological Support Line of the Regional Health Department (291 212 399) counts to date 2,990 calls.
