There are 125 new positive cases to report this Saturday in the Autonomous Region of Madeira.
Madeira now has 4,310 confirmed cases of COVID-19 in the regional territory. There are 6 imported cases (4 from the Lisbon and Tagus Valley Region, 1 from the Central Portugal Region and 1 from São Tomé and Príncipe) and 119 cases of local transmission, most of which are already associated with contacts. or contexts of positive cases.
To date, 5,770 suspected cases of covid-19 have been registered in the Autonomous Region of Madeira (of which 1,460 have not been confirmed).

Death of an 86-year-old man
With one more death to report, RAM counts, to date, a total of 32 deaths associated with covid-19.
It should be noted that today an 86-year-old man died at the Dr. Nélio Mendonça Hospital, with covid-19. The patient had been admitted to the Covid-19 Polyvalent Unit since January 21, and had associated comorbidities, according to a statement from the regional health authority, which extends its condolences to the family.
At this time, 1,913 are active cases, of which 113 are imported cases and 1,800 are local transmission cases.
Regarding the isolation of active cases, it should be noted that 84 people are hospitalized (80 people in Polyvalent Units and 4 in the Intensive Care Unit dedicated to covid-19) and 44 people are in isolation in a dedicated hotel unit, the rest staying in their own accommodation.
More than 280 situations under study
In total, there are 280 new situations that are currently being studied by the health authorities, which are related to contacts with positive cases, situations reported to the SRS24 line or to SESARAM, EPERAM. Epidemiological investigations are ongoing.
The total number of contacts for the SRS24 Line (800 24 24 20) now amounts to 33139 calls and the Psychological Support Line of the Regional Health Department (291 212 399) has 2649 calls to date.
Regarding the active surveillance of contacts of positive cases, 2201 people are being
accompanied by the health authorities of the different municipalities of Madeira and Porto Santo.
Regarding the surveillance of travelers, 4,329 people are also being accompanied by the authorities, using the MadeiraSafe application.
