The 40-year-old woman who was attacked with a knife yesterday in Pico das Romeiras, Funchal, did not resist the serious injuries and died today at the Dr. Nélio Mendonça Hospital.
As far as possible, the victim died minutes before noon.
According to DIARY, the woman was attacked by her ex-partner. After an argument, the individual stabbed her more than 20 times, hitting her in the arm, shoulders and belly, leaving her in serious condition.
The victim was rescued on the spot by a team of Câmara de Lobos Volunteer Firefighters and by the Rapid Intervention Medical Team (EMIR), and was later referred to the Emergency Service, where he was immediately operated on in the operating room.
The Public Security Police were summoned to the scene of the crime, in the Pico das Romeiras Housing Complex, where the Judicial Police were also in charge of investigating crimes of this nature.
The victim leaves behind two small children.
