The WhatsApp application will stop working from the first hours of January 1, 2021 on some older phones.

On devices such as iPhone 4 (or older) and cell phones with outdated Android system (version 4.0.3), the application stops working, reports the Correio da Manhã.

The same source, which cites the newspaper ‘Daily Mail’, the messaging platform will stop working on version iOS 9 – an operating system launched by Apple in 2015. The latest model launched by North American technology last September already has the iOS14 System.

In the case of Android, version 4.0.3, released in 2011, was superseded the following year. The application will no longer work in the previous version. In the latest models, the messaging app, with over 2 billion users worldwide, just needs to be updated.

Whoever has one of the previous versions, the company advises to transfer the files you need and save the messages so as not to lose important information, says the Correio da Manhã.
