The Braga Skating Academy yesterday suspended the training of 100 young athletes, mostly girls, who attend it, after the appearance of a case of covid-19 in a skater.
The virus was said to have been contracted by the young woman in the family, as her father had been infected days earlier.
The suspension was determined jointly by the Academy management and by the Public Health Team of the Braga Health Unit, and includes the cleaning and hygiene of all spaces, materials and equipment used during the practice of sport. The training took place at the Adaúfe sports center.
AL MINHO, two parents said that President Teresa Cunha only took measures, belatedly, after a visit from the Local Health Authority, which she flatly denies: “the day we learned of the hypothesis that the athlete was infected, Health Line 24 and we follow your guidelines ”.
The person in charge assures that the parents were warned: “When the infection was confirmed, the health delegation agreed with us to suspend the training and disinfection, which we have already requested from municipal Civil Protection.”
The leader regrets “that there are those who try to spoil the volunteer work that is carried out daily for the satisfaction and well-being of 100 young people.”
From what O MINHO learned, some of the young athletes, especially those who were in contact with the colleague in question, picked up the house in quarantine.
