The outbreak of the new coronavirus that broke out in recent days in the municipality of Vila Verde, with special focus on the urban area of that town, has already caused 50 confirmed infected and led, this Friday, a meeting between the autarky and the health authorities local.
In a statement, the Vila Verde City Council admits the outbreak of covid-19 in the municipality and assures that it is “in a proximity job” to make “the most appropriate and effective decisions”, asking citizens to remain calm. .
The autarky reveals that in today’s meeting some strategies were defined to “mitigate the appearance of new outbreaks of infection”, and one of them is to reinforce the inspection of GNR in restaurants and beverage establishments, among other services.
“If the evolution of the epidemiological situation requires it, the decision to restrict the respective opening hours is not excluded, as well as other additional measures that are justified,” says the Chamber.
As reported by the MINHO, the local health authority assured that the outbreak is identified and “presumably controlled,” said health chief José Manuel Araújo.
The municipality is also advancing, who are under active surveillance “about 60 people” who were in direct contact with infected people. These ‘guardians’ are being monitored by the Vila Verde health delegation.
“Technical and inspection visits are being made to the units of the Home and Home Support Service of the IPSS councils, in order to ensure that the respective contingency plans are updated and that these institutions are now better prepared to face a possible second wave of this pandemic ”, the Chamber also assures.
As previously reported by the MINHO, a health fence is not in the equations of the municipality or the health authorities.
