Valentina’s stepmother and father were heard this Tuesday afternoon. The consultation with Valentina’s stepmother ended around 17:00. The interrogation was followed by Sandro Bernardo, the girl’s father, whose interrogation ended shortly after 6:30 p.m.
The girl’s father and stepmother are suspected of the boy’s murder and concealment of the body. They were arrested last Sunday after the father confessed to the crime and took the body to the Judicial Police.
The two suspects were identified during the morning and heard separately, by the examining magistrate of the Leiria Court, this afternoon. The first to be heard was Márcia, who was listened to for more than two hours. Sandro followed, who was listened to for just over an hour.
Upon leaving the courtroom, both Valentina’s stepmother and the girl’s father were insulted by several popular people, who do not move from the front of the building.
THE autopsy on Valentina’s body, the 9-year-old girl who died in Atouguia da Baleia, in Peniche, confirms that there have been attacks and violence.
According to the preliminary result, the girl has head injuries and signs of suffocation. According to a police source, although there is evidence of suffocation, the 9-year-old boy will have suffered assaults in several places, causing several injuries.
The results thus confirm the theory of the Judicial Police that the nine-year-old girl was killed in her home, in a “context of violence” and not after an accident, on Wednesday, with the body being taken to Serra d’El -Rei during the night of the same day.
Complementary tests are also being carried out, such as the detection of some type of medicine that has been administered to the child, to clarify all the circumstances that led to the death of the child.
