The U21 national coach, Rui Jorge, announced on Monday the announcement of the first phase of the European Championship of the category, from March 24 to 31, in which the group phase takes place.
From the list of 23 players, Tiago Tomás and Francisco Conceição, Sporting and FC Porto players, respectively, who make their debut in this category, stand out.
It is also worth noting the absence of Nuno Mendes, who, Rui Jorge announced, is part of Fernando Santos’ call for the commitments of Selection A.
The Portuguese team begins playing against Croatia on March 25, playing with their counterpart England three days later, on March 28. The Portuguese participation in this first phase ends on the 31st, with the match against Switzerland.
If it qualifies for the quarterfinals, Portugal will play the second round of the Euro at the end of the season, from May 31 to June 6.
