Portugal recorded, in the last 24 hours, another 12 deaths from covid-19. The daily number of infected people contradicts the growth trend of the last days: 138 more cases of infection were registered (553 yesterday).
According to the bulletin of the General Directorate of Health (DGS) sent this Saturday, 12 more deaths by covid-19 in Portugal (nine deaths had been registered yesterday).
Since the start of the pandemic, the new coronavirus has killed 1126 citizens. Regarding the number of infected, there was a increase of 138 patients in the last 24 hours, one of the lowest values in history. It should be remembered that, on Friday, DGS reported 553 new infected people. Therefore, the total number of people who contracted SARS-Cov-2 is 27406.
It should also be noted that hospitalized fell again: are now 815, 27 less than yesterday. We intensive care are 120 patients, a value that also shows a decrease compared to the previous bulletin (yesterday there were 127).
This Saturday 77 more recoveries. Now there is 2499 people considered healed since the outbreak began in Portugal.
Regarding the regions, the North It is still the most affected by the virus: there are 645 deaths and 15,854 patients. It follows Lisbon and the Tagus Valley with 238 deaths and 7,166 infected and the Center with 215 deaths and 3,581 people with the new coronavirus. In the Algarve, the figures remain unchanged: 13 deaths and 345 infected. The Alentejo continues to register only one fatality and 235 infected.
In the Azores archipelago there are 14 deaths (and 135 infected) and Madeira does not register fatalities of the new coronavirus, representing 90 citizens with the infection.
So far, more women (574) have died than men (552), with the highest number of deaths among people over the age of 80 (755).
