US President Donald Trump was taken to a military hospital for treatment less than 24 hours after being diagnosed with COVID-19, White House spokeswoman Kayleigh McEnany said Friday.

Trump was airlifted to Walter Reed National Military Medical Center in Bethesda, Maryland, where he will remain in a special suite for the next several days as a precaution.

“President Trump remains in a good mood, has mild symptoms and has been working all day,” McEnany said in a statement.

“Out of great caution, and on the recommendation of his physician and experts, the president will work from the presidential offices in Walter Reed for the next few days,” the spokeswoman added. Doctors opted for this change so that Trump could receive immediate care if needed.

“I think I’m doing very well, but we will try to make things go well”

These are the first word of mouth statements from Donald Trump since he announced that he contracted covid-19. In a video statement posted to Twitter, Trump says he is “very well.”

“I want to thank everyone for their tremendous support. I’m going to Walter Reed Hospital. I think I’m doing very well, but let’s try to make sure things go well. The first lady is doing very well. So thank you very much, I am very grateful, I will never forget it. Thank you.”

There was no transfer of power to Vice President Mike Pence, White House Communications Director Alyssa Farah. “The president is in command,” he guaranteed.

According to White House physician Sean Conley, Donald Trump received a cocktail antibody test, he remains “tired” but maintains “good morale,” Conley said.

According to the doctor, the president of the United States received a dose of cocktail experimental developed by the Regeneron laboratory, which gave encouraging preliminary results in clinical trials in a small number of patients.

Former US President Barack Obama wrote on Twitter that while “a great political battle is being fought,” they are all American and human. “And we want everyone to be healthy, regardless of the party,” he added.
