The figures known so far in terms of tourism have no comparison with those of recent years. Looking at these three regions that were awarded, the numbers are equally different. Until September, accommodation units for travelers in the Lisbon Metropolitan Area received just over two million guests, well below the 6.2 million in the first nine months of 2019.

The crisis that tourism is going through is not only felt on a national scale. All destinations are going through serious difficulties due to the pandemic that led governments to implement serious limitations on the movements of their citizens.
