“The General Directorate of Health (DGS) reports that three positive cases of COVID-19 have been confirmed at its headquarters, so far, leaving ten workers in prophylactic isolation,” the agency reported in a note sent to the newsrooms.
The same statement highlights that the general director of Health, Graça Freitas, “maintains mild symptoms.”
The results “appear in the context of the epidemiological investigation, which is ongoing, in conjunction with the Health Authority, as stipulated in current regulations, applying only a test when it is considered relevant.
Subsequently, the Secretary of State and Deputy for Health, António Lacerda Sales, and the Minister of Health, Marta Temido, were tested negatively for the new coronavirus infection.
The DGS also guarantees that its operation will continue in this critical period of the pandemic through its deputy directors general, its leaders and workers. The same note adds that “a large part of the team was teleworking, an aspect that ensures the replacement of workers who will be in isolation or prophylactic isolation.”
