According to the IASaúde epidemiological bulletin, there are three new positive cases to report, this Wednesday, in Madeira, so the Region now has a total of 193 confirmed cases of covid-19. According to the Regional Health Authority, these three cases are imported and were identified in the airport inspection operation. Two infected arrived from the United Kingdom and another from the Lisbon region and the Tagus Valley.

On the other hand, there are two new recovered cases, that is, the archipelago already has 140 recovered cases and currently has 53 active cases, of which 41 are imported cases and 12 are locally transmitted cases.

Regarding the isolation of positive cases, 25 people are isolated in a dedicated hotel unit, 27 in their own accommodation and 1 patient is admitted to the multipurpose unit dedicated to covid at the Dr. Nélio Mendonça Hospital.

This Wednesday there are no suspected cases under study by the health authorities to report, but 16,942 people are being accompanied by the health authorities of the different provinces, of which 7,804 are under active surveillance.

The contacts of the SRS24 Line totaled 12,471 calls and the total number of calls through the IASaúde psychological support line is now 2,147, with 181 people accompanied by professionals from this institute.

99,568 samples for testing

Until the end of yesterday, in the SESARAM Clinical Pathology laboratory, 99,568 samples were processed for PCR tests. In the context of the traveler screening operation at the ports and airports of Madeira and Porto Santo, there is a cumulative total of 57,697 test vintages to report.
