The Institute of Health Administration (IASaúde) mentions, in today’s bulletin, three new positive cases of Covid-19, in the Region, bringing the total of active cases to 43.
The region has a cumulative total of 161 confirmed cases since the start of the pandemic.
All new cases are imported, one from the Lisbon region and the Tagus Valley and two from South Africa.
Of the 43 active cases, 32 are imported cases identified in the context of the surveillance operation implemented at the Madeira airport and 11 are cases of local transmission.
Currently, 22 people are isolated in a hotel unit and 21 in their own accommodation, without any hospitalized patients.
IASaúde reports another suspicious case of a traveler who is under study.
A total of 16,839 people are being monitored by the health authorities of the different municipalities, of which 7,605 are under active surveillance.
In the passenger control operation in the ports and airports of Madeira and Porto Santo, a total of 43,294 harvests were carried out for testing.
