Three people were displaced today by a fire in their home on Avenida Elísio de Moura, in Coimbra, sources from the Fire and sources from the PSP informed Lusa.

A PSP official reported that the fire was limited to a room on the second floor of a building, but “due to smoke” and action to combat the flames, the house “was left without conditions” of habitability.

According to the same police officer, the three displaced residents were temporarily accommodated in the home of their relatives.

A source from the Coimbra Fire Department of Sapadores (BSC) said that the warning was given around 4:15 p.m., after the fire broke out in a mattress in an apartment, in that six-story building, near the headquarters of the Coimbra District Command of the PSP.

The District Relief Operations Command (CDOS) reported that the attack work on the flames and the aftermath involved 27 agents from the BSC, the Volunteer Firefighters of the city, the National Institute of Medical Emergencies (INEM), the Red Cross Portuguesa and the PSP, supported by nine vehicles. .
