Three people have died from victims of covid-19 in the last 24 hours in Portugal, which registered 374 new cases since Friday.
The three deaths registered, this Saturday, in the bulletin of the Directorate General of Health, bring the total number of deaths from covid-19 in Portugal to 1818, at a time when the number of infected people continues to show signs of growth: in the last 24 hours There are 374 more positive cases to add to the data, and the total now increases to 57,448.
According to the same data, another 210 people have recovered from the disease; there are now 41,766 since the start of the pandemic. The number of hospitalized people fell from 334 to 324 (minus 10), while the number of hospitalized patients increased from 38 to 40 (two more).
How three deaths, one man and two women, all over 80, lived in the Lisbon and Tagus Valley Region, which has already accumulated 663 deaths since the beginning of the pandemic, in 29,663 positive cases registered since the beginning of the pandemic, 149 of which registered in the last 24 hours (39.9 % of new cases).
The Northern Region, the most affected by the mortality of the virus, once again exceeded the RLVT in number of daily cases, having registered 157 infections, 41% of the total recorded in the last 24 hours, to which the outbreaks will not be ignored registered in Vila Verde, in the district of Braga, and Freamunde, in the municipality of Paços de Ferreira, district of Porto.

The Central Region registered more than two dozen cases (23, according to the latest data), adding 4,780 infected since the beginning of the pandemic.
In Alentejo, with three more records, there are already 926 officially identified cases of covid-19 since March 2, while Madeira, for months without changes, adds four more cases, when consequences of the outbreak still persist on the island of Porto . In the Azores archipelago, one more case is added to the official statistics, which now point to 209 infected in the “islands of fog” since the virus touched Portugal.
All things considered, there are 13,864 active cases of covid-19 in Portugal, 161 more than on Friday and 33,965 surveillance contacts, 35 more than the data in the previous bulletin.
Confirmed cases are distributed in all age groups, between 40 and 49 years the record of most infections.
In total, the disease affected 25,837 men and 31,611 women, according to reported cases.
Of the total deaths, 916 were men and 902 women.
The highest number of deaths is still concentrated in people over 80 years of age.
The covid-19 pandemic has already claimed at least 838,000 deaths and infected almost 24.8 million people in 196 countries and territories, according to a report by the French agency AFP.
