This Urus is not what it seems. And not worth € 272,000 – Observer

The Urus is a reference whenever talking about SUVs. In fact, its 650 hp and the ability to go from 0 to 100 km / h in 3.6 seconds, and then reach 305 km / h, allow it to leave most sports on the market behind. But, like everything that is good and technologically sophisticated, this Lamborghini requires a greater investment, which in Portugal reaches one of the highest values when a price starting at 272 thousand euros is proposed.

It was likely the high price, coupled with the enviable reputation of the Transalpine model, that prompted a Japanese transformer to “make” a more affordable Urus. As a base, he used a Toyota RAV4, a model that does not share the shape of the SUV coupe with the Italian “pump,” and still falls short in terms of length and width. But the reality is that, with the kit of transformation created by Albermo, the front begins to show some similarities with that of Urus. However, nothing that convinces a more detailed analysis.

The Japanese Urus does not assemble the 650 hp Lamborghini 4.0 V8 biturbo, and continues to use hybrid mechanics that combine a gasoline engine with an electric one, with the rear wheels powered by another battery-powered unit. In addition, the little more than 200 CV of the Japanese RAV4 (which would reach a total of 222 CV in the case of the European version) cannot compete in force with the 650 CV of the Italian car, which means that it remains at 180 km / He due to the need to have 8.1 seconds to reach 100 km / h.

However, the copy loses nothing with the original and just looks at what happens with consumption, with the Toyota in the hybrid version announcing 5.6 l / 100 km, against 12.7 liters of the Lamborghini, which corresponds to 325 g of CO2/ km, away from the Toyota 127g. The price also favors the Urus copy, which is proposed among us for 44 thousand euros in the 4 × 4 version, clearly below the 272 thousand of the original. But this set of benefits is not expected to cause any Lamborghini customer to stop opting for the 650 hp Urus.
