This Thursday, September 10, the Algarve registers 6 more confirmed cases of Covid-19, according to the epidemiological bulletin of the General Directorate of Health (DGS), which has just been published.

The Algarve region thus has a total of 1,192 confirmed cases, in numbers accumulated since the beginning of the pandemic.

In the neighboring Alentejo region, the number of new cases has also decreased compared to yesterday, with 15 more new infections confirmed today. The Alentejo total is now 1,036 cases, in cumulative numbers.

More worrying are the figures at the national level: today there are 585 more cases throughout the country, with the regions of Lisbon and Vale do Tejo (+ 239) and the North (+ 268) being responsible for the vast majority of new infections. Even so, the number of new cases is lower than yesterday.

Next are the regions of Center (5094, plus 50), Algarve (1192, plus 6), Alentejo (1036, plus 15), Azores (229, plus 1) and Madeira (180, plus 6).

On the other hand, there were 157 more recovered, which means that, in total, there were 43,441 people curing the disease.

Since there is a large increase in new cases and few recoveries, the number of active cases also continues to grow. Today they are 425 more than yesterday, for a total of 16833.

The 3 deaths that are registered today were all in the Lisbon region and the Tagus Valley.

The number of people admitted to hospitals across the country has also grown to 406, 15 more than in yesterday’s DGS bulletin. Of these, 57 are in the intensive care unit (plus 5).

There are currently 35,181 people in contact with surveillance, 30 more than yesterday.
