Portugal registered, in the last 24 hours, 825 new cases of covid-19 (an increase of 1.10%) and eight more deaths, according to data from the epidemiological bulletin of the General Health Directorate (DGS), released this Wednesday . (September 30th). In total, since the beginning of the pandemic, 75,542 positive cases of the disease and 1,971 deaths have been confirmed.

There are more 337 people recovered from the disease, in a total of 48,530, and Portugal has 25,041 active cases, 480 more than on Tuesday. 97.3% of the patients are at home and 2.3% in the ward, said Health Minister Marta Temido during a press conference on the evolution of the pandemic.

Of the 825 new cases reported, 398 were identified in Lisbon and Vale do Tejo, 48% of the national total of new infections.

There are 294 new diagnoses of covid-19 in the North, another 82 in the Center, three more in Alentejo, another 41 in the Algarve. There are five more cases in the Azores and two in Madeira.

The deaths registered in the last 24 hours occurred in Lisbon and Vale do Tejo (six) and in the North (two). Seven fatalities were over 80 years old and one between 60 and 69 years old.

According to data from the DGS bulletin, the fatality rate is 2.6% and in those over 70 years it stands at 13.5%.
