The number of active cases in Covid-19 increased this Friday, December 25, from 975 to 1062 (plus 87), in the Algarve, according to data published by the District Commission for Civil Protection.
As usual on Friday, this entity again took stock of the pandemic situation in the region. From yesterday to today, there are 107 more cases in the Algarve, with a cumulative total of 6,819.
The number of people recovered also increased, with 20. Since March, 5,687 people have been battling the new coronavirus in the Algarve.
Even so, the number of new cases was higher than that of recovered, thus increasing the assets that now number 1,062.
Hospitals in the region also increased the number of hospitalized patients to 53 (plus 3). 12 people are in intensive care and 7 of them ventilated.
Deaths remain at 70, with 2,189 contacts under surveillance.
