There are 62 more cases of Covid-19 in the Algarve

There are 62 new cases of Covid-19 in the Algarve, according to data from the epidemiological bulletin of the General Directorate of Health (DGS) of this Sunday, December 6, which has just been published.

Since the beginning of the pandemic, in cumulative numbers, the Algarve now has 5,679 infections. Today, there is no record of deaths in the DGS document, with a total of 55 deaths in the region caused by the disease.

In Alentejo, today’s bulletin reports 215 new infections (a total of 6,858) and 2 more deaths.

Across the country, according to the DGS, there are 3,834 new confirmed cases of Covid-19, with the overwhelming majority of cases (2,258) being re-registered in the north. The Lisbon region had 773 new cases and the Center 500. On the islands, the Azores have, according to DGS, 22 more cases and Madeira another 4.

In accumulated numbers, the North region is the one with the most infections since the beginning of the pandemic: 169,721. It is followed by Lisbon and the Tagus Valley (105,221), the Center (32,862), the Alentejo (6,858), the Algarve (5,679), the Azores (1,171) and Madeira (962).

Regarding deaths, at the national level, there were 87 more, which brings the accumulated total to 4,963.

In addition to the two deaths registered in Alentejo, we must also regret this Sunday, 50 more in the North, 21 in Lisbon and Vale do Tejo and 14 in the Center.

The number of active cases in the country, after a day in which it decreased, today has increased again (+895) and stands at 74,456. This means that the number of new recoveries (2,852) was lower than that of new cases. Since the start of the pandemic, 243,055 people have been cured of Covid-19.

In hospitals, the number of hospitalized patients has increased, to 39 more (3,268 in total). Of these, there are 514 in intensive care, 3 less than yesterday.

This Sunday there are 77,420 surveillance contacts, 223 more than in the last DGS bulletin.
