There are 52 new cases of Covid-19 diagnosed in the region (Leiria district and Ourém municipality), according to data published in the last 24 hours by health authorities.
The new infections detected are distributed in 10 of the 17 municipalities in the region: Ourém (14), Caldas da Rainha (11), Leiria (8), Batalha (6), Porto de Mós (4), Alcobaça (3), Bombarral (2), Marinha Grande (2), Nazaré (1) and Óbidos (1).
With these 52 new cases, the number of confirmed infections in the region, since the beginning of the pandemic, amounts to 2,072. Yesterday, Friday, the barrier of two thousand cases was crossed.
The number of recoveries, released today by the health authorities, is 47. They were registered in the municipalities of Leiria (12), Ourém (12), Pombal (8), Alcobaça (4), Caldas da Rainha (4) , Porto de Mós (3), Marinha Grande (2), Batalha (1) and Peniche (1).
The balance between the new diagnosed infections and the registered recoveries shows, today, a total of 438 active cases in the region, with Leiria standing out with 102.
As for the number of deaths, it remains at 50. The last registered occurred in Leiria on October 21.
Portugal: new infection record with 3,669 new cases
Portugal today registers 3,669 new cases of infection by the new coronavirus, the highest daily value since the start of the pandemic, and another 21 deaths related to covid-19, according to the epidemiological bulletin of the General Directorate of Health (DGS).
Hospital admissions also reached the highest values recorded since March, in the last 24 hours, in a total of 1,455, 37 more people hospitalized than on Friday.
According to the bulletin published today, Portugal has registered 116,109 confirmed cases and 2,297 deaths since the beginning of the covid-19 pandemic.
