The Algarve has 31 more cases of Covid-19, according to data from the epidemiological bulletin of the General Directorate of Health (DGS) of this Friday, October 9, which has just been published.

Even so, these figures are far from the national total – plus +1394 infections since yesterday throughout the country – and the situation in the North (+689) and Lisbon and the Tagus Valley (+ 559).

In the Algarve, the number of infections caused by SARS-Cov-2 already amounted to 1923, since the beginning of the pandemic in March.

In neighboring Alentejo, today there are 11 new cases, for a cumulative total of 1,615.

Once again, the North and Lisbon and Vale do Tejo regions represent more than three-quarters of the total new infections registered in the last 24 hours in the country.

They follow, in number of new cases, but far from the increase observed in the other two regions, the Center (+96), the Algarve (+31), the Alentejo (+11), Madeira (+5) and the Azores ( +3).

This increase in new infections also corresponds to an increase in the number of hospitalized patients: there are now 811 (+10), of which 125 (+10) are in the Intensive Care Units.

In terms of deaths, there were 12 throughout the country, and the total increased to 2062. There were 8 deaths in Lisbon and Vale do Tejo, 3 in the north and 1 in the center.

The number of recovered has also increased: there are 647 more recovered nationwide.

However, as the number of new infections largely supplanted the number recovered, active cases have risen again dramatically: there are now 29,702 active cases, 735 more than yesterday.

There are also 47,721 people in contact with surveillance, that is, in quarantine, which represents a significant increase compared to 1539 the previous day.
