Today Madeira registers more than 110 cases of covid-19, a new daily maximum of infections.
There are 14 imported cases (3 from the United Kingdom, 3 from the Lisbon and Tagus Valley region, 2 from northern Portugal, 2 from Poland, 2 from South Africa, 1 from Spain and 1 from Nigeria) and 96 transmission cases local, the majority already associated with contacts or contexts of positive cases.
According to the bulletin released by the Regional Health Directorate, today there are also 31 more recovered cases to report (now there are 1,218 recovered cases).
Are now 876 active cases, of which 175 are imported me 701 are broadcast locally.
Regarding the isolation of active cases, 34 people are isolated in a dedicated hotel unit, 793 in their own accommodation and 49 people are currently hospitalized (44 in the Polyvalent Unit and 5 in the Intensive Care Unit dedicated to Covid-19 ).
In total, there are 234 new situations that are currently being studied by the health authorities, all related to contacts with positive cases, situations reported to the SRS24 line or by SESARAM. Epidemiological investigations are ongoing.
Regarding the active surveillance of cases of positive contacts, the health authorities of the different municipalities of Madeira and Porto Santo are monitoring 2,391 people.
Regarding the surveillance of travelers, 15,440 people are also being accompanied by the authorities, using the MadeiraSafe application.
