The country now has 19,715,899 cases and 341,845 deaths from covid-19 since the start of the pandemic.

New York State continues to be the worst affected by the pandemic with 37,868 deaths, followed by Texas with 27,895.

The United States is the country with the most deaths and also with the most confirmed cases of infection.

The provisional death toll far exceeds the White House’s initial predictions.

The University of Washington Institute for Health Metrics and Evaluation estimated that by the time Trump leaves the White House on January 20, 420,000 people will have died, and the number will rise to 560,000 on April 1.

The covid-19 pandemic caused at least 1,791,033 deaths as a result of more than 81.9 million cases of infection worldwide, according to a report by the France-Presse (AFP) news agency.

The disease is transmitted by a new coronavirus detected at the end of December 2019 in Wuhan, a city in central China.
