The Regional Secretary of Health delivered the 1st “Baby Kit” card of 2021

The regional secretary of Health and Civil Protection, Pedro Ramos, traveled today to the Dr. Nélio Mendonça Hospital to deliver the first “Baby Kit” card to the family of the baby of the year in the Autonomous Region of Madeira, for an amount of 500 euros.

The delivery of the “baby kit” card is a measure of the Regional Government implemented on January 1, 2019 whose main objective is to create incentives to support delivery in RAM.

The beneficiary of the first baby kit card of the year 2021, valued at 500 euros, was the family of the girl María Leonor, who was born today at 12:53 p.m.

The card was delivered at the main entrance of the Dr. Nélio Mendonça Hospital, to Maria Leonor’s father.

The “Baby Kit” card, similar to what has happened since 2019, will be available in the maternity area of ​​the Dr. Nélio Mendonça Hospital, located on the 4th floor, and is intended for all children born in this hospital and in private clinics in the Region.

The personalized card with the newborn’s identification is not transferable and can be used until the child is 1 year old.

The value of the card is used for the acquisition of goods considered essential for the health and well-being, safety and harmonious development in the first years of the baby’s life, that is, various products, medicines and vaccines not included in the Plan National Vaccination, up to the maximum value of 500 euros, at any pharmacy in the Region.

Since the implementation of this measure, in January 2019, and to date, the Regional Government has supported, through the delivery of the baby kit card, to more than 3,500 families in the Region.

This measure of the Regional Government has the collaboration of the Dignitude Association, IPSS and the National Pharmacy Association.
