The president of the Regional Government, of the PSD / CDS / PPM coalition, considered that the financial endowments will also allow “through the companies the conservation and maintenance of employment and, above all, the just consolidation of social stability, to avoid new poverty and exclusion ”.
The official pointed out that “without means it is difficult to make the plan come true” in terms of public policies to face the economic crisis generated by the Covid-19 pandemic.
José Manuel Bolieiro hopes to receive contributions from the social partners, within the framework of a “social dialogue” that “in democracy must be constant.”
He defended that “a strategic plan for the Azores can only be medium and long-term, having to consider the emergencies faced by the Azores, in particular for epidemiological and public health reasons brought by the Covid-19 pandemic, and its consequences on the society and the economy ”.

José Manuel Bolieiro also said that the Government Program, which will be presented to parliament, will give effect to the electoral program of the PSD, in alliance with the other two political forces that make up the new Government of the Azores, CDS-PP and PPM.
