The Central Control Commission of the PCP reported today cases in which the party’s elected to public office did not comply with the statutory “flag” of the Communists of not benefiting from the compensation plan for exercising that position.

These situations of the elected officials of the PCP for public positions that will not have given the party the difference between the salary for the exercise of political office and the remuneration they receive in their professional career were mentioned by the leader Raimundo Cabral before the XXI Congress of the PCP.

At the PCP Congress in Loures, Lisbon district, Raimundo Cabral was responsible for presenting the activity report of the Central Control Commission, a body whose main mission is to oversee statutory legality and party accounts.

Regarding the compliance of the statutes by the elected representatives of the PCP for public places, in which it is imperative that they are neither benefited nor harmed in relation to their professional career, Raimundo Cabral began by highlighting that this “is a flag of Communists in the exercise of power, making a difference “compared to other political forces.

“The Central Control Commission of the PCP highlights positive aspects in complying with this statutory norm, but cannot fail to mention that it detected cases of non-compliance that should not be ignored and that require continuous attention from the entire party”, defended.

Then, Raimundo Cabral highlighted “positive steps” in terms of the participation of party members at the voting tables in electoral events and the fact that there are organizations in which participants deliver tickets to the party.

“But in many organizations there are difficulties to implement this practice, with many misunderstandings and resistance,” he added.
