Even so, it is one of the lowest records in December, which accumulates, in the first 15 days, more than 55 thousand infections, a third of the total of November, black November, which ended with 156 infections and almost two thousand deaths.
The last 24 hours, according to the daily bulletin of the Directorate General of Health (DGS), seem to be a relief from the pandemic in Portugal. There are fewer hospitalized, less infected, more recovered and fewer people under surveillance.

Among citizens younger than 70 and older than 60, six deaths (three of each gender) were reported, while the immediately preceding age group, 50-59, noted the loss of a man.
The lethality of covid-19 was particularly aggressive in the North, with 36 lives taken in the last 24 hours (42% of the daily total), seven more than yesterday’s 29, in a record that already contains 2,724 names since the beginning of the pandemic. With the month in between, RN has registered, so far, 28,398 positive cases of covid-19, which is equivalent to 51% of the national total in the first 15 days of December.
The Lisbon Region and the Tagus Valley represent around 30% of the total monthly accumulated cases, with a record of 16030 infections since the beginning of the month, to which the 682 registered in the last 24 hours contributed, the lowest record since November 17, second consecutive day below 1,000 daily cases.
In the Central Region, the 436 cases registered this Tuesday represent an increase compared to the 255 on Monday, but, even so, it is a number below the maximum of this month, registered last week, with more than 700 cases.
