The Louletano outbreak increases the number of new Covid-19 cases in the Algarve

The Covid-19 outbreak confirmed in Louletano DC triggered the number of new cases of the disease in the Algarve, with 37 more infections since yesterday, the General Directorate of Health (DGS) has just revealed in its epidemiological bulletin this Saturday, 29 of August.

In the country as a whole, the progression is also high, since Portugal today has 374 new cases of Covid-19, still 27 cases less than yesterday. There are 57,448 accumulated cases nationwide.

As for those recovered, there are 210 more than yesterday’s bulletin, which brings the total of people who have already killed Covid-19 throughout the country to 41,766.

Taking into account that new cases have supplanted those recovered, the number of active cases has also increased (161 more) to 13,864.

This Saturday, the North, with 157 more cases, for a cumulative total of 20 614, is the region of the country where new infections were registered in the last 24 hours. Lisbon and the Tagus Valley continue, where there are today 29,663 accumulated cases (plus 149).

It is followed by the Central regions (4,780 plus 23), Algarve (1,099, plus 37), Alentejo (926, plus 3), Azores (209, plus 1) and Madeira (157, plus 4).

In hospitals throughout the country there are 324 people hospitalized, 10 less than yesterday. The number of intensive care patients rose to 40, two more than yesterday, according to the DGS bulletin.

As for the contacts under surveillance, there are now 33,965, 35 more than yesterday.
