The Councilor for Education of the Lisbon City Council said, in a comment on the social network Facebook, in response to a publication by a member of the Parish Council of Areeiro, to be available to give him “a couple of punches” in the “wicks”.

Manuel Grilo’s comment, which was later deleted, came after a post by Luís Moreira, who shared a story from Saturday’s magazine titled “Blocists question the BE / PS agreement in Lisbon.”

Luís Moreira was elected a member of the Areeiro City Council by the Bloco de Esquerda in the municipalities of 2017, but he became independent after the party took away his political confidence in November 2018.

In the publication, Luís Moreira questions “what is the current price to buy a councilor”, taking into account that the Lisbon Chamber, led by the PS, but which has a city governance agreement with BE, approved on 12 November a Proposal for the rehabilitation of the block of the old Swiss pastry shop with the abstention of the bloc councilor.

“She [proposta] assumes the construction of 10,000 m2, corresponding to four commercial units and a service unit on the attic floor. The problem? The agreement signed between PS and BE foresees that all new construction projects comprise at least 25% of the house, ”wrote Luís Moreira.

In response, the Councilor for Education wrote: “This 25% is affordable income in a private housing project and not housing in any project. As for my price, I am available to pay you with a couple of strokes of these forms” , according to a ‘print screen’ made by Luís Moreira.

“Manuel Grilo deleted his comment in this ‘post’ of mine. But since he is not very smart, he did not think that I could have a copy of the screen,” the independent member of the Areeiro board wrote later.

The education councilor’s comment was made on Saturday, the same day that Luís Moreira shared the news on his personal ‘Facebook’ account, he told Lusa.

Lusa tried unsuccessfully to contact the councilor, and his office declined to comment.
