The Leiria region surpasses the barrier of 200 deaths – Leiria Region

Three people infected by the new coronavirus have died since yesterday in the Leiria region. According to the highest balance of this Thursday of the local health authorities, a death was registered in Leiriaone in Great Marina and another in Peniche.

Since the beginning of the pandemic, 201 deaths have been recorded due to complications associated with Covid-19 in the district of Leiria and the municipality of Ourém.

The number of new cases continues to increase, specifically in the municipality of Leiria where 80 new positive cases were diagnosed since yesterday Wednesday. Leiria it also registered the highest number of recoveries, with 87 patients presenting clinical cure criteria in the last 24 hours.

In total, 199 new infections and 181 recoveries were confirmed.

In addition to Leiria, there are new cases registered in Queen syrup (25), Ourém (22), Great Marina (twenty-one), Porto de Mós (sixteen), Peniche (12), Alcobaça (8), Pombal (8), Obidos (3), Battle (2) e Nazareth (2).

Sick still recovered in the Great Marina (20), in Queen syrup (19), Porto de Mós (fifteen), Peniche (14), Alcobaça (10), Pombal (9), Battle (4), Bombarral (2) e Nazareth (1).

Today there are 15 more active cases, for a total of 1,870.

70 more deaths in the country

This Thursday 24, Portugal counts more than 70 deaths related to covid-19 and 4,378 new cases of contagion by the new coronavirus, according to the General Directorate of Health (DGS).

The epidemiological bulletin of the DGS reveals that 2,853 people are hospitalized, 137 less than on Wednesday, of which 505 are in intensive care, that is, less six.

Since the start of the pandemic, Portugal has registered 6,413 deaths and 387,636 cases of infection by the SARS-CoV-2 virus, of which 68,690 are active today, 221 more than on Wednesday.
