Eleven counties in the region registered new positive cases in the last 24 hours. There are 83 more confirmed tests and “only” 48 recoveries.

The totals are lower than those of the last days, today is Sunday and there is usually a decrease in the number of tests at the weekend and at the beginning of the week, but even so the total of active cases continues to increase in the Leiria region (district of Leiria and Municipality of Ourém). They are 43 more than yesterday, in a total of 1883.

Alcobaça is the county with the most confirmed cases since yesterday, plus 25, followed by Leiria with 23. With less than ten cases Queen syrup (7), Ourém (6), Peniche (5), Obidos, Bombarral me Porto de Mós (Like 4 each), Marinha Grande me Pombal (with 2 each) and Nazareth (1).

To this day, according to data from the municipalities, there are still two deaths to regret, both Queen syrup, which confirms the existence of 14 deaths since the beginning of the pandemic. In the region, since March, 180 people have died from causes of death associated with the new coronavirus.

Among the recoveries, only seven of the 17 counties in the region have patients who have been discharged and can come out of isolation. Queen syrup It is the only municipality that exceeds two dozen cases (22) this Sunday. In Leiria recovered ten people, while in Alcobaça six in Obidos five in Battle me Marinha Grande two in each and in Porto de Mós one more.

Portugal registers 71 more deaths

Portugal today counts 71 more deaths related to covid-19 and 3,334 new cases of infection by the new coronavirus, according to the General Directorate of Health (DGS).

The epidemiological bulletin of the DGS reveals that 3,027 people are hospitalized, 54 more than on Saturday, of which 483 are in intensive care, less two.

Since the start of the pandemic, Portugal has registered 6,134 deaths and 374,121 cases of infection by the SARS-CoV-2 virus, with 70,754 active, more than 844 compared to Saturday.

Health authorities have 82,591 contacts under surveillance, 3,088 more than on Saturday.
