If the list of counties with a high risk of Covid-19 transmission were updated today, Leiria would be subject to partial confinement.

The same would happen with the municipalities of Alcobaça, Great Marina, Nazareth, Peniche me Pombalwho would join Ansião me Ourém, where the recent restrictions imposed by the Government since Monday prevail. Already Alvaiázere it would come off the list.

Leiria accumulated 338 cases in the last 14 days, 301 of which would be considered high-risk municipalities. The cumulative incidence value (proportion of new cases per 100,000 inhabitants in 14 days) is 269.8, exceeding the limit ratio of 240.0 established by the European Center for Disease Prevention and Control (ECDC) to determine the level of risk of spreading the disease.

In Pombal, the cumulative incidence stands at 375.0, followed by Peniche with 373.8, Nazareth (289.4), Marinha Grande (257.1) e Alcobaça (253.9).

I’m already on it Ourém, the incidence value is 542.6, while in Ansião is 249.2. Alvaiázere it has an incidence of 60.6, the lowest value recorded among the 17 counties in the region.

To reach this conclusion, REGIÃO DE LEIRIA counted the accumulated cases in the last 14 days in each municipality, based on the data disseminated by the local health authorities (through the District Civil Protection Commission and the municipalities of the region) . To calculate the ratio of 240 positive cases per 100,000 inhabitants, the estimates of the National Institute of Statistics for the resident population, updated in June 2020, were used.

In the following map we indicate, by municipality, the total number of confirmed cases since March, recoveries, active cases, deaths, new cases registered between November 7 and 20 (14 days) and, in parentheses, the limit of cases that increase the risk of transmission due to the resident population.

The incidence value is considered “very high” when it exceeds 240 accumulated cases in 14 days per 100 thousand inhabitants; “High” when it ranges from 120.0 to 239.9; “Moderate” between (60 and 119.9); and “low” between 20.0 and 59.9

OR Leiria district and Ourém municipality have registered 4,333 to date positive Covid-19 diagnoses. So far, 79 patients have died and 2,766 have recovered. After all, there were 1,488 active cases in the region today.

It should be noted that at the end of October there was a significant gap between the figures released by the General Directorate of Health (DGS) by municipality and the data obtained locally. On October 26, the DGS reported a total of 1,730 cases in the region, 399 fewer than those reported by local health authorities.
