After seven days of hunger strike, the “Surviving Bread and Water” movement decided to end the protest that was taking place in front of the Assembly of the Republic. The decision was announced via social media late on Thursday, December 3.
After meeting with Fernando Medina in the late afternoon, José Gouveia, representative of the group, had stated that there was a desire to end the protest: “It is our wish that she [a greve de fome] Finish, I can say, but only in groups can we decide ”.
Although everything that was discussed at the meeting or what, in particular, demobilized the protest is not yet known in detail, Ljubomir Stanisic, who also participated in the meeting, left some clues.
“We discussed various ideas, various possibilities, and it was agreed that in seven days, eight days, next week, we will have a new meeting, because in many measures that were discussed together, Fernando Medina himself agreed with a part of them . The other party knows to all three that it is practically impossible to find solutions for everyone, so we look forward to the next meeting, ”he said late in the afternoon.
After so many days without eating, José Gouveia chose a croquette for his first meal, according to “TSF”, while Ljubomir had joy on his face when he ate a few slices of pizza.
