The Regional Government will meet tomorrow to discuss the situation of the Covid-19 pandemic in Madeira. The meeting was confirmed to DIÁRIO by a member of the executive. On the table will be the marked growth of new cases of daily infection and the possible measures to be taken in the near future, to combat Covid-19.
“We are in a public health crisis. (…) And if it is necessary to install new sanitary fences … I will not hesitate.”
In recent days, the Prime Minister has even admitted the establishment of fences or other restrictions on individual freedom, if the public health situation recommends it.
Currently, the wood has three municipalities with a high risk of transmission of SARS-CoV-2: Câmara de Lobos, Funchal and Ribeira Brava.

Today the Municipal Civil Protection Commission of Funchal met and, unanimously, more restrictive measures were requested.
