In the closing briefing of the Government meeting, the Minister of Health, Marta Temido, explained that the integrations concern several different professionals: 1,320 operational assistants, 912 nurses, 480 technical assistants, 220 senior diagnostic technicians and 63 more professionals.

Regarding the increase in the number of doctors for the NHS, the minister said that this diploma does not cover them, since their recruitment depends on recruitment competitions.

These contests will fill 911 positions for hospital physicians, 39 public health physicians, adding to the current 363, and 435 specialists in general and family medicine.
