The former CEO of Doyen, Nélio Lucas, confirmed on Tuesday the payment of 700 thousand euros to the company of which Alexandre Pinto da Costa was part for the transfer of Brazilian footballer Casemiro from FC Porto to Real Madrid.

The information was provided during the hearing of the businessman in the 26th session of the ‘Football Leaks’ trial, in the Central Criminal Court of Lisbon, and validated documents released in 2016 by the platform created by Rui Pinto, in which he made payment of a commission of 1.26 million euros to Vela Management, a company linked to Nélio Lucas, which later paid 700,000 euros to Energy Soccer, of which Alexandre Pinto da Costa was a partner.

“It’s true, he was a partner of the company in Portugal,” said Nélio Lucas, in response to Rui Pinto’s lawyers.

Later, off the pitch, the former manager of the investment fund reiterated his “pride” in the negotiations with the son of the president of FC Porto.

“Alexandre Pinto da Costa is a businessman like any other, he did business with me and I am proud of the business I did with him. If I can do something else with him, I will,” he told reporters.

The words of Nélio Lucas diverge in some way with the recent statements of Pinto da Costa, who, in an interview with TVI, on October 15, explained that his son is not involved in the transfers of the ‘blue and white’ club.

“Today he has no connection with FC Porto, except as an associate, 52 years ago, who entered the day of his birth. Today, in his activity, he is a football entrepreneur. He does not do business with us, nor can he do it” summarized the Porto leader.
