The five conclusions of the emergency meeting between the League and the clubs

A statement issued by the League reiterates the importance of clubs complying with the protocol, asking for “uniform criteria for intervention” and articulation with health delegates.

The conclusions of the emergency meeting of the League with doctors from all professional football clubs, which took place this Saturday morning, for the cases of covid-19 in the II League, are already known. After the postponement of Feirense-Chaves on Friday and the Academic of Viseu-Academic scheduled for today, both from the first day of the second big step, the League issued a statement in which the importance of “scrupulous compliance with the assumed code of conduct “by all sports agents and the adoption of a” uniform criterion of intervention for the same type of event. ”

It is also considered “extremely important” that clubs maintain a “close and regular relationship with the local Health Delegate in their region.”

After the lack of reproduction of the CD Feirense – GD Chaves y Ac. Viseu – A. Academica, referring to the first round of LigaPro, Liga Portugal summoned doctors from all the Sports Societies that are part of professional competitions, for an emergency meeting.

In this working meeting, all aspects related to the guidelines defined by the DGS, as well as the Specific Curriculum Plan for Professional Football were addressed.

The following conclusions were drawn from this morning’s meeting:

1- Reinforce the importance of scrupulous compliance with the code of conduct assumed and signed by all sports agents – Annex 2 of the Professional Soccer Specific Curriculum Plan;

2 – As is already practiced in the process of resuming the NOS NOS 20-20, it is imperative to maintain the full application of point 27 of decree 036/2020 of the DGS, also contemplated in point 10.2 of the Recovery Plan for Professional Football, which presupposes that “the identification of a positive case, by itself, does not make collective isolation of the teams mandatory”, and whose successful application last season was a decisive factor in ending the competition;

3 – It is extremely important for all Sports Societies to maintain a close and regular relationship with the local Health Delegate in their region;

4 – Without prejudice to the specific epidemiological scenarios of each region, guarantee at all times the existence of a uniform intervention criterion for the same type of occurrence;

5 – Professional Football has adopted a testing process that goes beyond the mandatory provision required by DGS Decree 036/2020, with the clear purpose of reducing the risk of contagion within the universe of each club, ensuring a Identification control and reduction of the possibility of outbreaks within each squad. This model cannot be penalized for an activity that cannot be stopped, otherwise it will cause irreparable damage;

All these conclusions will be taken to the meeting scheduled for this Monday, at 3:00 p.m., between Liga Portugal and the Secretary of State for Health, António Lacerda Sales, where the need to implement these recommendations will be reiterated, under the risk that the professional football competitions in the 2020-21 season.
