The Chamber of Paredes de Coura decreed this Tuesday municipal mourning for the death of the bishop of the diocese of Viana do Castelo, Anacleto Oliveira, victim of a traffic accident on Friday, the municipality reported today.

According to the mayor’s note of regret, “in the different circumstances in which Paredes de Coura had the honor of receiving him, D. Anacleto Oliveira was always the exponent of simplicity and generosity, a man of faith and dedication, whose heart he embraced the whole community “.
According to the diocese of Viana do Castelo, the funeral of the bishop of Viana do Castelo will take place on Wednesday, in the Cortes cemetery, in Leiria, after two days of funeral ceremonies.
The funeral will take place at 3:00 p.m. on Wednesday at the Cortés cemetery, the birthplace of Anacleto Oliveira. That morning, starting at 10 in the morning, the bishop’s body will be in a burning chamber in the Cathedral of Leiria.
